The over/under on this matchup is 231 ½.

Comparing the teams statistically, both can light up the scoreboard with the Mavericks third in scoring at 116.8 per game, while the Clippers are fourth at 116.1 points per game.  Similarly, the teams rank third and fourth in the NBA in rebounding and in the top ten in three-point field goal percentage.  The Clippers are 12th in points allowed at 109.6 while the Mavericks are 16th at 111 points allowed per game.  Dallas is one of the best teams in the league at protecting the ball, ranked third in fewest turnovers and Los Angeles comes in at 17th.

The Clippers will be without veteran point guard Patrick Beverley, who is out with a calf injury. Kawhi Leonard leads the team in scoring at 26.8 points per game to go along with 7.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Paul George adds to the dynamic duo, dropping over 21 per game while hitting 41 percent from three-point range. Montrezl Harrell (18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds) and sixth man extraordinaire Lou Williams (18.5 points) adds to the offensive mix.  Los Angeles also brings in sharpshooters Reggie Jackson and Landry Shamet who hit 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Dallas is led by Luka Doncic, who is one of the best all-around players in the NBA. He’s averaging 29 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per contest. Kristapas Porzingis provides a great second option on offense, averaging a shade under 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. Tim Hardaway Jr, Seth Curry, and Trey Burke have provided spark from long range, hitting above 40 percent from beyond the arc.

This game has “high-scoring” written all over it.

The Clippers are coming off a 117-116 loss to the Suns, while the Mavericks took down the Kings, 114-110 in their last game. Doncic can hold his own with Leonard in the head-to-head scoring match-up but the Clippers have more firepower and a deeper bench, which should lead to a Clippers win. Take the over and take the Clippers minus the points.
