Miami has struggled to score all season, having hit just 100 home runs and average 3.6 runs per game.
Brian Anderson is the main threat at the plate with 20 home runs and 61 RBI, while Miguel Rojas leads the team with a .289 batting average.
Starlin Castro, Jorge Alfaro, Garrett Coopers and Curtis Granderson are all tied for second on the team in home runs with 11.
The Rockies have a significantly more potent offense, having hit 157 home runs and average 5.3 runs per game.
Nolan Arenado leads the team in RBI with 90 and is tied with Trevor Story for tops in home runs with 27.
Charlie Blackmon is first in batting average at .323 and has hit 24 home runs.
David Dahl has been a solid contributor with a .302 batting average.
On the mound, Alcantara is 4-10 with a 4.44 ERA. In 135 2/3 innings, he’s walked 65 and allowed 16 home runs, a bad combination against a tough Colorado offense.
Austin Brice has been the one consistent member of the bullpen, posting an ERA of 2.45 in 40 1/3 innings.
Frequently used Wei-Yin Chen and Adam Conley have struggled to an ERA of 6.84 in 98 2/3 innings. As a team the Marlins have allowed 4.8 runs per game.
German Marquez has a stellar 11-5 record but a less than mediocre 4.75 ERA, allowing 26 home runs.
Scott Oberg is the most used, and best reliever for the Rockies this season, allowing 14 earned runs over 55 innings.
Bryan Shaw and Carlos Estevez have been worked had and have a combined ERA of 4.71 in 112 2/3 innings. The Rockies have given up nearly six runs per game this season.
Miami should get a boost in their run production playing in Colorado against a mediocre Rockies’ staff.
However, the Rockies should be able to take advantage of control issues by Alcantara and a shaky bullpen.
Look for a Colorado win in a relatively high scoring 8-5 contest.
