Texas Rangers versus Seattle Mariners (April 26)

In an American League West battle, the Texas Rangers head to Seattle to take on the Mariners.

Shelby Miller is scheduled to start for the Rangers, while Yusei Kikuchi will take the mound for the Mariners.

The Rangers are lead offensively by Joey Gallo, who is hitting .273 with eight home runs and 22 RBI.

Asdrubal Cabrera has been a good complimentary power source, with six home runs and 16 RBI this season.

Elvis Andrus leads the team in hitting with a .354 average and has added three home runs, while Shin-Soo Choo is batting a solid .329.

As a team, the Rangers have 24 home runs and averaging 5.6 runs per game.

The Mariners have the top offense in the league at the moment. Jay Bruce leads the power production with nine home runs.

Daniel Vogelbach has eight home runs, while Mitch Hanger has hit seven home runs with 18 RBI.

Edwin Encarnacion has six home runs and Tim Beckham, Doningo Santana and Ryon Healy have each added five home runs to a team that has belted 56 home runs.

They are averaging a league best 6.4 runs per game.

As for the pitching, Miller is 1-1 with a 7.63 ERA, allowing 34 base runners in 15 1/3 innings.

The back end of the bullpen for the Rangers has struggled.

Jose Leclerc has five saves but has allowed seven earned runs and 15 base runners in eight innings. The Rangers have allowed 5.4 runs per game.

For the Mariners, Kikuchi is 1-1 with a 4.68 ERA with 23 strikeouts. The bull pen has been solid.

Roenis Elias has four saves and has allowed four runs in 13 2/3 innings.

Anthony Swarzak has saved three with an ERA of 2.45 and Brandon Brennan has an ERA of 1.29 in 14 innings.

As a team, the Mariners have allowed 5.1 runs per game.

This is likely to be a high scoring game as neither team has the dominant pitching to shut down, good and in the case of the Mariners, excellent offense.

Expect Seattle to score 6 to 8 runs and the Rangers to score 4 to 6. A total of 10 to 14 runs is possible.

The Mariners should win in what will be a high scoring, fun game to watch.
